SB7686-1. This is a bolt-in steering box mount for a 76-86 Jeep CJ. It is made by M.O.R.E. I suggest using the box mount in every CJ with high-steer. This mount is constructed from 1/2" steel, and moves the steering box forward about 1.25". By moving the steering box forward, this helps keep the tie-rod from hitting the pitman arm in a high-steer application. It will also allow you to move your axle forward for better tire clearance, or to fit a shackle reversal kit. In order to hook everything back up, you will need to trim the front cross-member. This will allow for the power steering lines to clear. At my shop, we use a plasma cutter. At home, you can use a cutt-off wheel, or a cutting torch. As far as extending the steering shaft, this can also be done with a small torch. Once the shaft is heated and the injected plastic is burned from the slip shaft, it can be extended to fit.
