Depending on what vehicle your
axles came from, they may not have the correct yokes you need.
Most Dodge 60 fronts come with
an internal clip 1310 yoke, while most Chevy front 60’s
come with an external 1310 yoke.
At the same time, most Ford
60’s use a 1330 yoke. While these three yokes are still
plenty strong, but they basically take 1/2 ton u-joints.
Not to mention, in vehicles
with extreme flex, the u-joint tends to interfere with the
pinion nut. It is not uncommon for a person to have to grind
their pinion nut. Not only does this weaken the nut, it also
creates a situation where your nut may strip if you have to
take it off.
