SF-135. 1350 Superflex U-joint from Tom Woods. These offset u-joints are designed to stop drivelines from binding and allow driveshafts to spin at higher angles. They should ONLY be used in low speed, offroad applications, where driveline angles are too extreme to allow standard u-joints to work. With that being said, they work great for rock crawlers with extreme suspension travel. It doens't matter how strong your driveshaft is, if the u-joints bind, the driveline will fail as soon as your axles start to droop out! These u-joints come with 4 external clips and one grease zerk.
I have been running this u-joint at the pinion of my "Big Blue" truck for over 3 years. It has never failed me. Before I installed it, I only had 3 inches of droop before my driveline bound up at the pinion. Now I have 6" of droop. |
