8.8 Ford rear axle truss, great for TJ or YJ rear axle swaps!

One of the best budget rear axle swaps for Jeep TJ's is the Ford Explorer 8.8 rear axle.  All Truck and Explorer rear 8.8 axles had 31 spline axle shafts.  Even though they have C-clip style axle shafts, the shafts are larger than Dana 44 axle shafts.  If you are lucky, you can even find and use a factory disc brake 8.8 rear axle.
